Had a movement service done on a Seiko that was running about three minutes fast per day. The team identified it was magnetised — which I honestly hadn't considered. After the service and demagnetising, it settled to within a few seconds. They sent a written document with the rate figures, which I appreciated having.
I wanted a condition report on a vintage Omega before buying it from a collector online. The report was thorough — they noted the dial had been refinished at some point, which wasn't mentioned in the listing. That changed my negotiation entirely. Worth every baht. The turnaround was four days, as promised.
I left a Rolex Datejust from my father here for a full restoration. They contacted me at each stage before doing anything — whether to refinish the bracelet, whether to source a replacement crown, and so on. I chose not to refinish and they respected that without any pushback. The watch came back running well, with a full written account of everything done.
Simple and honest. I sent in my grandfather's old Longines just to understand what condition it was in before deciding whether to have it serviced. The report was clear and detailed, with photographs. They didn't try to sell me anything at the same time, which I was half-expecting. I'm now planning to book the movement service.
I had a Tudor serviced here after a previous workshop elsewhere had done a poor job — the movement was running inconsistently after coming back. Grailtick identified old lubricant residue from the previous service and cleaned it out properly. Rate testing was done over 48 hours before I was called to collect. The written report was a nice touch I hadn't encountered before.
The thing I noticed most was how clearly everything was explained — why demagnetising made sense for my particular watch, what the rate testing numbers meant, what to expect going forward. It didn't feel like being talked past. I'd suggest this place to anyone in Bangkok with a mechanical watch that needs attention.
A closer look at specific jobs
Inherited Omega, uncertain history
A client inherited a 1970s Omega Constellation from a relative. The family didn't know when it had last been serviced, whether it had been repaired, or whether it was complete. The watch was running, but erratically.
Condition report first, service second
We carried out a condition report to establish a baseline before any work. This identified an aftermarket crown and a minor case dent. The client then chose to proceed with a full movement service and demagnetisation. The case work was not touched per their preference.
Running within +/−6 seconds per day
After servicing, the movement settled to a consistent rate. The client now has both a condition report noting the history on arrival and a post-service document. The total cost across both services was ฿11,200. Timeline: three weeks from drop-off to collection.
"Having the paperwork to go with the watch made a difference. It's not just a serviced watch — it's a documented one."
Pre-purchase decision on a vintage Patek
An overseas buyer had found a 1960s Patek Philippe being offered by a Bangkok dealer. Before committing to a significant purchase, they wanted an independent written opinion on what they were actually buying.
Full condition report with photographs
The dealer agreed to bring the watch to our workshop for an independent assessment. We examined case, dial, hands, crown, movement function, and overall presentation. The report noted a hairline crack in the crystal and a replaced balance wheel — neither of which had been disclosed. Photographs documented each point.
Purchase price renegotiated
Armed with the report, the buyer renegotiated the price to reflect the undisclosed condition points. The purchase proceeded at a reduced figure. The buyer later wrote to say the report had saved them considerably more than the ฿4,200 it cost.
"The report was clear, honest, and photographed. No opinion, just what was there."
